Theft Deterrent Module: Installation
NOTE:
Use correct fastener in proper location. Replacement fasteners must be correct part number for application. Fasteners requiring replacement or use of thread locking compounds or sealants are identified in service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage fastener. Use correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Connect electrical connector to module. Slide upper portion of module into bracket slots. Install theft deterrent module bolts to bracket (3). See Figure . Tighten theft deterrent module bolts to 27 INCH lbs. (3 N.m).
- Install theft deterrent module bracket to cross car beam (4). Install theft deterrent bracket mounting bolts (2). Tighten bolts to 27 INCH lbs. (3 N.m). Install instrument panel compartment. Install right-side instrument panel insulator.
