DTC B2262: Mirror Horizontal Position Sensor Fault (LDCM): Testing

  1. If diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select LDCM data display and monitor MIRROR HORIZONTAL POSITION voltage. If voltage is 0.1-4.78 volts, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If voltage is not 0.1-4.78 volts, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect left mirror 4-pin connector C2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor MIRROR HORIZONTAL POSITION voltage. If horizontal position sensor voltage is greater than 4.0 volts, go to next step. If horizontal position sensor voltage is less than 4.0 volts, go to step  8 .
  4. Turn ignition off. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between left mirror connector C2 terminals "C" (Black/White wire) and "D" (Gray wire). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor MIRROR HORIZONTAL POSITION voltage. If horizontal position sensor voltage is less than 0.1 volt, go to next step. If horizontal position sensor voltage is greater than 0.1 volt, go to step  9 .
  5. Turn ignition off. Remove fused jumper wire. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between left mirror connector C2 terminal "A" (Gray wire) and "D" (Gray wire). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor MIRROR HORIZONTAL POSITION voltage. If horizontal position sensor voltage is less than 4.0 volts, go to next step. If horizontal position sensor voltage is greater than 4.0 volts, go to step  7 .
  6. Check for short to ground in Gray wire between left mirror and LDCM. If circuit is okay, go to step  12 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  7. Check for open, short to voltage or high resistance in Gray wire between left mirror and LDCM. If circuit is okay, go to step  11 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  8. Check for short to ground in Gray wire between left mirror and LDCM. If circuit is okay, go to step  12 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  9. Check for open, short to voltage or high resistance in Gray wire between left mirror and LDCM. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  10. Check for open, short to voltage or high resistance in Black/White wire between left mirror and LDCM. If circuit is okay, go to step  12 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  11. Check left mirror circuits and connectors for intermittent malfunctions. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem circuit or connector is not found, go to step  13 . If problem circuit or connector is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  12. Check LDCM circuits and connectors for intermittent malfunctions. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem circuit or connector is not found, go to step  14 . If problem circuit or connector is found and repaired, go to step  15 .
  13. Replace left mirror assembly. See POWER MIRRORS - CORVETTE article. After repairs, go to step  15 .
  14. Replace LDCM. See POWER WINDOWS - CORVETTE article. After repairs, go to next step.
  15. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Clear any DTCs. Recheck system operation. If DTC resets, go to step  2 .
