Section 272 (Engine Control System Self-Diagnostics - 3.8L): Summary

If no hard fault codes are present, driveability symptoms exist or intermittent DTC(s) exist, proceed to TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES - 3.8L BONNEVILLE, GRAND PRIX, IMPALA, LESABRE, MONTE CARLO, PARK AVENUE & REGAL article for diagnosis by symptom (i.e., ROUGH IDLE, NO-START, etc.) or intermittent diagnostic procedures.

If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present and a no-start condition exists, proceed toNO-START DIAGNOSIS in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - 3.8L BONNEVILLE, GRAND PRIX, IMPALA, LE SABRE, MONTE CARLO, PARK AVENUE & REGAL article. If no DTCs are present and a driveability condition exists, diagnosis by symptom (i.e., ROUGH IDLE, ENGINE STALLS, etc.).
