EGR Position Sensor

The scan tool displays 0-100 percent. This represents the actual position of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pintle in percent. Zero percent displayed indicates a fully extended pintle, and that the EGR valve is closed.

The scan tool displays 0-5 volts. Indicates the EGR pintle position sensor signal voltage being monitored by the PCM. A low voltage indicates a fully extended pintle, and a closed valve. A voltage near 5 volts indicates a fully retracted pintle, or open valve.
