DTC B1004 may be stored as a history DTC with out affecting operation of control module. If DTC B1004 is stored only as a history DTC and not as a current DTC, do not replace control module. DTC B1004 will never set as current during testing unless there is a non-recoverable memory failure. Intermittent interruptions to either "hot at all times" supply or control module ground will cause control module to set DTC. If DTC B1004 is stored as both a current and history DTC, replace control module. See appropriate removal and installation procedure for module being replaced under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
