Body Control Module
NOTE:
Following procedure is written specifically for Tech 2 scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary reprogramming functions.
NOTE:
Body Control Module (BCM) must be programmed with proper Regular Production Option (RPO) configurations before performing theft deterrent relearn procedure. RPO are printed on service parts identification label, located on inside of rear compartment lid.
NOTE:
After new BCM is programed, all personalization settings must be reset.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, select DIAGNOSTICS and input all required vehicle data as prompted by scan tool. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE. When MAIN MENU is displayed, select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select new VIN and input all required data. Exit back into SPECIAL FUNCTIONS menu.
- Select BCM REPROGRAMMING. Select SETUP BCM. Scan tool will display NOW SETTING UP NEW BODY CONTROL MODULE. When BCM has been successfully setup, scan tool will display BODY CONTROL MODULE SETUP IS COMPLETE. Exist back into SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select SET OPTIONS. Select POINT OF SALE. Input all required data as prompted. Exit back into SET OPTIONS menu. Select OPTION CONFIGURATION. Input all required data as prompted.
- After completing programing procedure, perform THEFT DETERRENT RELEARN . If theft deterrent relearn procedure is not performed, vehicle will not be protected against theft by Passlock(tm) system and engine will not start. If after completing programing procedure, scan tool, displays UNABLE TO PROGRAM BCM. BCM IS SECURED, BCM is faulty or programming has not been performed properly. In either case BCM must be replace and new BCM must be reprogrammed.
