Circuit Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chevrolet Tracker. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

PCM controls each individual fuel injector sequentially. PCM energizes solenoid coil of fuel injectors. When energized, fuel injector solenoid operates solenoid plunger, allowing pressurized fuel to be injected into intake port of cylinder. Fuel pump will pressurize fuel rail and fuel injectors as long as engine is cranking and PCM is receiving ignition system reference pulses. Fuel pump will stop after 2 seconds if PCM does not receive any ignition system reference pulses.
