Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Remove the right insulator panels. Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - RIGHT (OUTBOARD) or CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - RIGHT (INBOARD) in Instrument panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Slide the body control module (BCM) from the bracket.
  4. Disconnect the BCM connectors from the BCM.
  5. Remove the BCM (2).
