Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the steering wheel control switch.
  2. Position the steering wheel control switch to the steering wheel.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the screws to the steering wheel control switch.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the steering wheel control switch screws to 2 N.m (19 lb in).

  4. Inspect the operation of the steering wheel control switch.
  5. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
