Passlock Learn Procedures

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Safari and 2004 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

After the BCM has been replaced and reprogrammed, the powertrain control module (PCM) must learn the new fuel continue password. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components for the appropriate learn procedure.

IMPORTANT: After programming, perform the following to avoid future misdiagnosis:
  1. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
  2. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Retrieve history DTCs from all modules with the scan tool.
  5. Clear all history DTCs with the scan tool.
