Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Reconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Position the TCM in the mounting bracket.
  3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the mounting bolts.

Tighten:  Tighten the mounting bolts to 2.0 N.m (17 lb in).

  5. Install the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module (ECM) Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.0L.
  6. IMPORTANT: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.
Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
  7. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions (TCM) .
