Condition
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
- A bounce of the power sliding door when it stops in the opening direction due to the fuel fill door being still open.
- The power sliding door does not achieve the full open position and stops before the hold open position.
- The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays "Passenger/Driver Sliding Door in Motion" message.
- The DIC displays "Passenger/Driver Sliding Door Obstacle Detected" message.
Correction
IMPORTANT:
The doors must be closed prior to programming. Wait until "Programming Complete" appears on the Tech 2(R) screen before exiting. Saturn technicians must wait for the "Programming Successful" screen on the SSS.
Technicians are to reprogram the power sliding door module with an updated software calibration. This new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 4.0 available April 6, 2005 and on TIS CD-ROM version 4.0 for 2005. As always, make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
After programming has been completed, the following initialization procedure must be performed for both sliding doors in the following order:
- Manually close and latch the power sliding doors.
- Perform two complete open/closed cycles for each sliding door using any one of the following devices:
- Appropriate switch mounted in the overhead console
- Appropriate switch mounted to the B pillar
- Remote transmitter
- Special functions of the scan tool
- With the scan tool, verify that the PSD Open/Closed Position Learned parameter displays "Yes".
- Operate the power sliding door to verify completion of the procedure.
