Theft Deterrent Control Module Replacement Using New Keys
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
If the theft deterrent control module is replaced and new vehicle keys are being made, the following procedure must be performed:
- Set Up a New Theft Deterrent Module (TDM) Using New Keys-Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components
in Theft Deterrent.
This step will set-up the replacement TDM.
- 10-minute Relearn Procedure-Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components
in Theft Deterrent. Use the VTD Learn for L61 or VTD Learn for LX9 calibration with this step.
This step will allow the powertrain control module (PCM) to learn the replacement TDMs incoming fuel continue password.
