- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the infrared module.
- Ignition ON, radio ON, RSE ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the signal circuit terminal 16 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or and open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition ON, radio OFF, RSE OFF, verify a test lamp does not illuminate between the signal circuit terminal 9 and ground.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, verify a test lamp illuminates between B+ and the signal circuit terminal 6.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the radio.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the radio.
- Verify a test lamp does not illuminate between B+ and the signal circuit terminal 5.
- If the test lamp illuminates, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the infrared module.
