Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement (ECT 1)

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Battery Disconnect Warning).

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
3. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.




4. Remove the ECT retaining clip.
5. Remove the ECT (1) from the coolant distributor.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ECT (1) to the coolant distributor.
2. Install the ECT retaining clip.
3. Connect the ECT sensor connector.
4. Refill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
5. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
