Removal Procedure

NOTE:

Clean all the fuel pipe connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting the pipes in order to avoid possible fuel system contamination.

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH-48027) , Fuel Pressure Relief (CH-48027) .
  3. Disconnect the chassis fuel feed pipe from the engine compartment feed pipe. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Cap the fuel pipe in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination.
  5. Remove the fuel pipe retainer nuts (1).
  6. Remove the fuel pipe bracket bolt (2).

  8. Remove the fuel pipe retainer (1).
  9. Pull straight up on the pipe (2) in order to remove the pipe from the fuel meter body.

  11. Remove and discard the following components from the fuel meter body.
    • Fuel seal retainer (1)
    • Upper fuel seal (2)
    • Spacer ring (3)
    • Lower fuel seal (4)
