Circuit/System Testing
- Inspect the linkage between the Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve and the valve at the intake manifold for the conditions listed below:
- Linkage for being connected
- Linkage binding
- Interference with hoses, wiring, or any other components
- If a condition is found, repair as necessary.
- Remove the linkage from the Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve.
- Ignition ON, disconnect the harness connector at the Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve and then reconnect. The Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve should move. Repeat procedure several times.
- If the solenoid did not move, replace the intake manifold.
- Inspect the inside of the intake manifold for the following conditions:
- Carbon build-up that limits the movement of the Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve.
- Casting flash that limits the movement of the Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve.
- Foreign material that limits the movement of the Q22 Intake Manifold Tuning Solenoid Valve.
- If a condition is found, repair as necessary.
- If all components test normal, clean or replace the intake manifold.
