Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EBCM seals, if removed.
  2. Install the EBCM (1) to the BPMV.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the EBCM bolts (1) and tighten in a cross pattern to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  6. Install the master cylinder heat shield, if equipped.
  7. Install the master cylinder heat shield bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

    NOTE: Lift the dash panel insulator slightly to install the upper master cylinder heat shield nut.
  9. Install the master cylinder heat shield nuts (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  10. Install the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LF1) or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LAU) .
  11. If installing a new EBCM, program the EBCM. Refer to Control Module References .
  12. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
