Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Cadillac SRX. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The rear wiper motor is controlled by the body control module (BCM) via a removable relay. When low speed rear window wiper operation is requested, the BCM will apply voltage to the rear wiper motor relay control. This will cause the contacts in the rear window wiper relay to close and apply B+ to the rear wiper motor through the rear windshield wiper low speed control circuit, enabling low speed rear wiper operation. When high speed rear window wiper operation is requested, the BCM continues to apply voltage to the rear wiper motor relay control circuit and also applies ground to the rear wiper motor relay coil control circuit. This will cause the rear window wiper relay to close and apply B+ to the rear wiper motor.
