Unsuccessful Programming Recovery
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 Chevrolet Volt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
In the event of an interrupted or unsuccessful programming event, perform the following steps:
- DO NOT turn the vehicle OFF. Ensure that all ECU, DLC and programming tool connections are secure and the TIS terminal operating software is up to date.
- Attempt to reprogram the ECU.
- If the ECU can still not be programmed, turn the vehicle OFF for at least one minute.
- Turn the vehicle to Service Mode and attempt to reprogram the ECU. The ECU should program.
- If the ECU still cannot be programmed, replace the ECU.
