Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF and vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 4V between the cellular telephone voice signal circuit terminal 6 and ground
    • If 4V or greater 
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the A11 Radio, ignition ON.
    2. Test for less than 1V between the signal circuit and ground.
      • If greater than 1V, repair the short to voltage in the circuit.
      • If less then 1V, replace the A11 Radio.
    • If less than 4V 
  3. Test for less than 4V between the cellular telephone voice low signal circuit terminal 15 and ground
    • If 4V or greater 
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the A11 Radio, ignition ON.
    2. Test for less than 1V between the signal circuit and ground.
      • If greater than 1V, repair the short to voltage in the circuit.
      • If less then 1V, replace the A11 Radio.
    • If less than 4V 
  4. Ignition OFF.
  5. Test for infinite resistance between the cellular telephone voice signal circuit terminal 6 and ground
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • If infinite resistance 
  6. Test for infinite resistance between the cellular telephone voice low signal circuit terminal 15 and ground
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Repair the short to ground on the circuit.

    • If infinite resistance 
  7. Disconnect the X1 harness connector at the A11 Radio.
  8. Test for less than 2Ω in the cellular telephone voice low signal circuit between A11 Radio terminal 6 X1 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module terminal 15.
    • If 2Ω or greater 

      Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • If less than 2Ω 
  9. Test for less than 2Ω in the cellular telephone voice signal circuit between A11 Radio terminal 20 X1 and K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module terminal 6.
    • If 2Ω or greater 

      Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.

    • If less than 2Ω 
  10. Replace the K82 Mobile Telephone Control Module.
  11. Verify that the audio tone can be heard clearly through the audio system when commanding the Audio Tone ON with a scan tool.
    • If audio tone is not heard clearly 

      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • If audio tone is heard clearly 
  12. All OK.
