Installation Procedure (Battery, Charging System And Starting System)
- Position the auxiliary generator (2).
- Install the auxiliary generator bolts (1) and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the battery positive cable terminal (4) to the auxiliary generator and tighten nut (3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Connect the generator electrical connector (1).
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
- Install the upper shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) , Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel) .
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
