Driver Adaptive Mode Control
The 80-40LE GEN II is always in adaptive mode. It does not have a switch to allow the driver to select a driving mode.
When certain conditions are met, the TCM selects a suitable shift mode for the driving condition and switches the modes automatically to provide the smooth gear shifts.
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Upslope | When driven on an uphill, the TCM determines the uphill driving based on information such as the signals from the ECM and output speed sensor and switches the driving mode to upslope mode. This prevents the drive force from dropping. |
| Altitude | At the high ground to which the engine power falls, in order to secure the driving force, a shift point and a lock-up point are changed based on the atmospheric pressure signal transmitted from the ECM. |
| Cruise Mode | In order to prevent the busy shift under cruise run, based on the cruise signal transmitted from the ECM, a shift point and a lock-up point are changed. |
| Cruise Uphill Mode | It is the control for driving force reservation on the uphill in cruise control. A shift point is changed when the uphill is detected in the cruise mode. |
