Curbview Vision Camera Description and Operation: Notes
WARNING:
The camera(s) do not display children, pedestrians, bicyclists, crossing traffic, animals or any other object outside of the cameras' field of view, below the bumper or under the vehicle. Shown distances may be different from actual distances. Do not drive or park the vehicle using only these camera(s). Always check behind and around the vehicle before driving. Failure to use proper care may result in injury, death or vehicle damage.
The Curbview camera provides a view of the area in front of the vehicle. The display shows a front, top down view at the top and left and right front camera images on the bottom.
The front view appears after shifting from R (Reverse) to a forward gear or by pressing CAMERA in the center stack and when the vehicle is moving forward slower than 8 km/h (5 mph).
The curbview camera system consists of the following components:
- B87 Rearview Camera
- B174L Frontview Camera Left
- B174R Frontview Camera Right
- K157 Video Processing Control Module
- A11 Radio OR K74 Human Machine Interface Module
When the vehicle is traveling at speeds slower than 6 mph (10 kph) the video processing control module will power up the cameras and send a video signal to the radio or human machine interface module.
The following conditions may cause a degraded surround vision camera image:
- Ice, snow or mud has built up on the rear vision camera
- Dark conditions
- Extreme light conditions, such as glare from the sun or the headlights of another vehicle
- Damage to the rear of the vehicle
- Extreme high temperatures or extreme temperature changes
