The internal steering wheel angle sensor does not require a centering often. Centering of the internal steering wheel angle sensor might be required after certain service procedures are performed. Some of these procedures are as follows:
- Power Steering Control module replacement
- Steering column replacement
- Collision or other physical damage to steering or suspension components
Certain steering symptoms can be corrected by performing the steering wheel angle sensor centering procedures such as:
- Poor or uneven return to center
- Poor or uneven on center feel
