Installation Procedure

Position a NEW steering gear boot inner clamp on the steering gear boot.
Apply a small amount of grease on the steering linkage inner tie rod and the steering gear housing where the steering gear boot sits.

Install the large end of the steering gear boot (1) to the steering gear rack housing (2).
Install the small end of the steering gear boot (1) to the inner socket boot groove (3).

Using J-35910 Band Clamp Crimping Pliers tighten the steering gear inner boot clamp (3)
Steering Gear Boot Outer Clamp (2) - Install
CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:
Align the match marks previously made on the steering linkage inner tie rod nut and the steering linkage inner tie rod.
Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Nut (1) - Install 42 N.m (31 lb ft)
Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement - Install
Measure and adjust the front toe. Wheel Alignment Specifications (Wheel Alignment Specifications (Front)) and Wheel Alignment Specifications (Wheel Alignment Specifications (Rear))
