Adding Keys (Without SPS)
NOTE:
- To initiate, this procedure requires that 2 learned keys be available.
- A total of seven keys maybe be learned to a single vehicle with one additional key only partially learned as it must remain in the key pocket during the procedure.
- This procedure adds keys only. The procedure does not erase previously learned keys.
- The keys to be learned must duplicate the mechanical cut of the current key.
- Place the recognized keys in the vehicle cupholder.
- Insert the mechanical key of the new key into the key lock cylinder located on the outside of the driver door and turn the key to the unlock position five times within ten seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display Ready For Remote #2, 3, 4 or 5.
- Remove the rubber mat in the instrument panel storage compartment. Extend the key blade on the new key and insert the key into the key slot.
- Press and hold the vehicle ON/OFF switch for two seconds. When the key is programmed, the DIC will show that it is ready to program the next key.
- Remove the key from the slot and press the unlock button. To program additional keys, repeat Steps 3 through 5.
- When all additional keys are programmed, press and hold the vehicle ON/OFF switch for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
NOTE:
The key slot is located on the bottom of the center console storage compartment. The rubber mat lining the bottom of the compartment needs to be removed to access the slot.
