Rear Differential Clutch Control Module
The rear differential clutch control module uses the vehicle identification number (VIN) information for calculations based on axle ratio, transmission, tire size, engine size and other specifics. When wheel slippage is detected, the module sends a signal to the actuator motor which shifts the PTU to engage the rear propeller shaft. The internal shift collar and cams design sends power to the rear propeller shaft and rear axle, transferring torque to the rear wheels. When slip is no longer detected by the module, rear propeller shaft engagement and rotation is discontinued.
