Circuit/System Testing

DTC U3000 with failure type byte 00, 41, 42, or 49 

  1. Verify that the DTC is not set with FTB 00, 41, 42, or 49.
    • If the DTC is set 

      Replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  2. All OK.

DTC U3000 4B 

  1. Verify that the ambient temperature around the module is less than 85°C (185°F).
    • If the ambient temperature is above 85°C (185°F) 
    1. Allow the area around the control module to cool below 85°C (185°F).
    2. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
    3. Verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset

      Go to next step: All OK.

    • Go to next step: If the ambient temperature is below 85°C (185°F) 
  2. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
  3. Verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
  4. All OK.

DTC U3000 54 or U3000 57 

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify DTC U3000 54 or U3000 57 is not set
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Program the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
    2. Verify the DTC does not reset.
      • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    3. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. All OK.

DTC U3000 55 

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify DTC U3000 55 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Verify that the radar module is properly and securely mounted in position.
    2. Inspect the module harness for signs of physical damage or corrosion. Repair or replace as necessary.
    3. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
    4. Verify the DTC does not reset.
      • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    5. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. All OK.

DTC U3000 97 

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify DTC U3000 97 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Verify that the radar module is properly and securely mounted in position.
    2. Verify there is no object or debris blocking the radar sensor such as dirt, mud, snow, or salt. Clean as necessary
    3. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
    4. Verify the DTC does not reset.
      • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    5. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. All OK.

DTC U3000 56 or U3000 76 

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify DTC U3000 56 or U3000 76 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Verify that the radar module is properly and securely mounted in position.
    2. Verify the DTC does not reset.
      • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    3. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. All OK.

DTC U3000 95 

  1. Ignition ON.
  2. Verify DTC U3000 95 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Verify that the stored location ID and sensed ID are matching.
    2. Verify there is no object or debris blocking the radar sensor such as dirt, mud, snow, or salt. Clean as necessary
    3. If the stored location ID and sensed ID are not matching, run Clear Short Range Radar Sensor Vehicle Position located in the scan tool under Configuration/Reset Functions in the B233 Short Range Radar Sensor.
    4. Verify the DTC does not reset.
      • If the DTC resets, using the Wiring Schematics, check the ground pins of the B233 Short Range Radar Sensor that is setting the DTC for signs of corrosion or an open circuit. Repair the circuit as necessary. If no corrosion or faults are found, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
      • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
    5. All OK.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. All OK.

DTC U3000 9A 

  1. Verify that the ambient temperature around the module is greater than -40°C (-40°F).
    • If the ambient temperature is below -40°C (-40°F) 
    1. Allow the area around the control module to warm above -40°C (-40°F).
    2. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
    3. Verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset

      Go to next step: All OK.

    • Go to next step: If the ambient temperature is above -40°C (-40°F) 
  2. Clear the DTC. Operate the vehicle under the conditions for running the DTC.
  3. Verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the B233 Short Range Radar that is setting the DTC.
    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
  4. All OK.
