Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
- Extend the steering column to its furthest point to allow the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover to clear the instrument panel.
Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.
Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1).
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Instrument Panel Steering Column Upper Trim Cover (1) - Remove
Instrument Panel Accessory Center Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front and work your way back to release the clips.
- Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove
Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
- Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Passenger Side (2) - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Inflatable Restraint Module Handling and Scrapping .
Open the instrument panel compartment door. (1)
- Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
Instrument Panel Compartment (1) - Remove
Instrument Panel Accessory Center Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
- Instrument Panel Accessory Center Trim Plate (1) - Remove
Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]
Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.
- Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate (1) - Remove
Instrument Cluster Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Instrument Cluster (1) - Remove
Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect
- Retaining Clip (2) - Remove
Keyless Entry Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
- Keyless Entry Control Module Bracket (2) - Remove
