Installation Procedure

Install the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid. (1)

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install and tighten the automatic transmission shift lock control solenoid bolt. (1)
- For MQB or MHT transmissions, refer to Fastener Specifications .
- For M5X or MQE transmissions, refer to Fastener Specifications .

Connect the electrical connector. (1)

NOTE:
Maneuver the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover around the steering column tilt and telescoping lever as necessary.

Position the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover (1) on the steering column.

Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the right of the centered position.

Turn the steering wheel approximately 90 degrees to the left of the centered position.
Instrument Panel Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

Turn the steering wheel to the centered position.
Install the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.
Return steering column to original position.
