Circuit / System Description

The K180S Driver Monitoring System Module controls the steering wheel heater, the steering wheel LED display for Super Cruise (UKL), and the steering wheel touch sensor for Super Cruise (UKL). The K180S Driver Monitoring System Module also controls the heated steering wheel ON indicator based on an input from the heated steering wheel switch. When the heated steering wheel switch is pressed, the switch signal circuit is pulled to ground. This indicates to the heated steering wheel module that steering wheel heat is requested. When the request is seen, the heated steering wheel module supplies voltage to the indicator lamp and supplies voltage to the heated elements, which are internal to the steering wheel.

On vehicles equipped with Super Cruise (UKL), the heated steering wheel module is a LIN device to the K124 Image Processing Module which will set the DTC.
