Circuit / System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S36 Dimmer Switch.
- Verify a test lamp illuminates between terminal 8 and B+.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
Repair the open or high resistance on circuit 3251 or the ground point for circuit 3251.
- Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
- If the test lamp does not illuminate
- Disconnect the X4 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.
- Test circuit 4989 for a short to ground.
- If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found.
- Test circuit 4989 for an open / high resistance.
- If an open / high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If an open / high resistance is not found.
- Test circuit 4989 for a short to B+.
- If a short to B+ is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If a short to B+ is not found.
- Replace the S36 Dimmer Switch.
- Operate the vehicle and verify that the All Wheel Drive switch operates normally.
- If the All Wheel Drive switch does not operate normally, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the All Wheel Drive switch operates normally.
- All OK.
