Single Module Engine Controller (SMEC)

The Single Module Engine Controller (SMEC), performs the functions formerly performed by the logic module and power module. The SMEC contains necessary circuits to operate the ignition coil, fuel injector, and alternator field. It computes the fuel injector pulse width, spark advance, ignition coil dwell, idle speed, purge, cooling fan operation and alternator charge rate. The SMEC contains a voltage converter which converts battery voltage to 8 volts output.
