Minimum Airflow Tests: 3.3L

  1. Ensure engine is at operating temperature. Shut engine off. Disconnect PCV valve hose from intake manifold nipple.
  2. Attach Orifice (6457) to intake manifold nipple. Orifice size is .125" (3 mm). Disconnect 3/16" idle purge line from throttle body nipple. Cap nipple.
  3. Connect Diagnostic Readout Box II (DRB-II). Start engine. Let engine idle for at least one minute.
  4. Using DRB-II, access MINIMUM AIRFLOW IDLE SPEED mode. When this mode is accessed, AIS motor will fully close, spark advance will be fixed and idle RPM will be displayed on DRB-II.
  5. Check idle speed. See MINIMUM AIRFLOW IDLE SPEED table. If minimum airflow idle speed is not within specifications, replace throttle body. Disconnect all test equipment.
