Minimum Airflow Tests: 3.3L
- Ensure engine is at operating temperature. Shut engine off. Disconnect PCV valve hose from intake manifold nipple.
- Attach Orifice (6457) to intake manifold nipple. Orifice size is .125" (3 mm). Disconnect 3/16" idle purge line from throttle body nipple. Cap nipple.
- Connect Diagnostic Readout Box II (DRB-II). Start engine. Let engine idle for at least one minute.
- Using DRB-II, access MINIMUM AIRFLOW IDLE SPEED mode. When this mode is accessed, AIS motor will fully close, spark advance will be fixed and idle RPM will be displayed on DRB-II.
- Check idle speed. See MINIMUM AIRFLOW IDLE SPEED table. If minimum airflow idle speed is not within specifications, replace throttle body. Disconnect all test equipment.
MINIMUM AIRFLOW IDLE SPEED
| Application | RPM |
|---|---|
| 3.0L | 750-950 |
| 3.3L | 700-950 |
