Test 78B - Intermittent Wiper System
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect multifunction switch 24-pin connector. See Figure . Check connector condition, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If connector condition is okay, reconnect multifunction switch 24-pin connector.
- Ensure DRB-II wiper motor actuator test is still running. Backprobe terminal No. 8 (Black wire) of multifunction switch 24-pin connector. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 12 volts, repair open Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If voltage pulsates between zero and 12 volts, ensure wiper switch is still in intermittent mode. Backprobe terminal No. 9 (Brown/White wire) of multifunction switch connector. If voltage does not pulsate between zero and 12 volts, replace multifunction switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage pulsates between zero and 12 volts, repair open Brown/White wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
