Description & Operation

Power windows are operated by a permanent-magnet electric motor, mounted in each door. Driver's power window switch provides ground to each motor. A 20-amp circuit breaker is used to protect circuit.

Electric motor operation is changed by reversing electric current flow. The motor operates worm gear in gearbox mounted to electric motor. See Fig 1 . Worm gear rotates pinion gear, which meshes with window regulator.
