Speed Control Servo

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Turn ignition switch and speed control switch to ON position, but do not start engine. Disconnect speed control servo 4-pin connector. Connect a jumper wire between servo harness connector terminal No. 3 and speed control servo terminal No. 3. See Fig 1. Using jumper wires, connect servo terminals No. 2 and No. 4 to ground.
  2. Using a hand-held vacuum pump, apply 10-15 in. Hg of vacuum to servo vacuum nipple. Throttle cable should retract. If throttle cable retracts, replace servo. If throttle cable does not retract, connect servo terminal No. 1 to ground. Throttle cable should now retract and hold position for at least one minute.
  3. If throttle cable does not remain retracted, replace servo. If throttle cable remains retracted, remove jumper wire from servo terminal No. 1. Throttle cable should return to released position. If throttle cable does not return to released position, replace servo. If servo functions as described, test is complete.
