Exterior Light Test 1A - Identifying Exterior Lighting System Problems

NOTE: Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.

Exterior lighting system uses a headlight time delay function. Identify problem(s) listed in EXTERIOR LIGHT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY table and perform indicated test(s).

NOTE: Headlight time delay will only operate when ignition switch is turned off, while headlights are still on and headlight switch is turned to OFF position within 45 seconds of ignition switch being turned off. Body Control Module (BCM) will provide a 90-second time delay before turning headlights off.

Problem (1) Perform
Headlights Will Not Turn Off EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A 
Headlight Time Delay Does Not Function EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 3A 
(1) If headlights do not operate from headlight switch, see EXTERIOR LIGHTS wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
