Engine Mounting: Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, and 2003 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The engine mounting system consist of three mounts; two hydro-type mounts are attached to the right and left side of the engine block, and one molded rubber type rear mount is attached to the transaxle (Figure). All three mounts attach to the suspension crossmember/engine cradle.
The engine hydro-type mounts contain a liquid that is encased in a solid rubber housing.
