Power Windows Operational With Door Open, Ignition Off
NOTE:
Windows are still operable within the 30 second time-out period after ignition switch has been turned off.
NOTE:
If scan tool is not available, analog voltmeter can be used to check inputs. See CHECKING INPUTS WITHOUT SCAN TOOL

- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Check door switch input signal using scan tool. If scan tool buzzer sounds once when door is opened, go to next step. If scan tool buzzer does not sound once when door is opened, check for open or short in door switch circuits. See wiring diagram in appropriate REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
- Check ignition switch input signal using scan tool. If scan tool buzzer sounds once when ignition switch is turned on, replace Electronic Timer Alarm Control System Electronic Control Unit (ETACS-ECU). Recheck system operation. If scan tool buzzer does not sound once when ignition switch is turned on, inspect and repair circuit between ignition switch and ETACS-ECU.
