Power Seat System: Description

Vehicles are equipped with 8-way power seats with 4 seat motors, heating elements and driver's seat position memory. Passenger seat movement is controlled by seat switch. Driver's seat movement is controlled by Memory Heat Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) from seat switch commands.

MHSMM is located on the underside of driver's seat. MHSMM controls driver and passenger heated seats. Heated seats have low and high temperature settings. Heated seats will operate when ignition is on and temperature of seat surface is less than 105°F (41°C).

MHSMM allows 2 driver memory presets for driver's seat, both outside mirror positions, and 10 AM, and 10 FM radio stations, plus last station selected, even if not one of the preset stations. MHSMM reads signals sent from sensors attached to seat and mirror motors and stores their position in memory. Radio information is sent to MHSMM on PCI bus circuit. Memory recall can be programmed to operate with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system. For RKE information and testing, see REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article. Vehicle also has a glide feature that slides driver's seat back about 2" to allow easy entrance/exit of vehicle. Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) in overhead console can be used to program some memory functions.
