Vehicle Theft/Security System: Notes

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off before disconnecting any control module connectors. Failure to do so could result in damage to control module. When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: If replacing Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) all existing ignition keys will need to be programmed into new SKIM. Obtain all customer ignition keys before performing diagnosis. After replacing SKIM, SKIM must be initialized. See SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE  under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
