Body Control Module
The Body Control Module (BCM) is mounted near the firewall under left side of instrument panel. BCM supplies vehicle occupants with various visual and audible information, and controls various vehicle functions. BCM communicates with other modules using the Programmable Communication Interface (PCI) bus. BCM is awake when battery voltage is supplied. BCM provides output control of the following features:
- Power door locks.
- Automatic (rolling) door locks.
- Door lock inhibit.
- Battery run-down protection.
- Chime driver.
- Compass/mini-trip computer support.
- Interior lighting.
- Power liftgate release (with power door locks).
- Exterior lighting.
- Headlight time delay (without automatic headlights).
- Automatic headlights (with electrochromatic rear view mirror).
- Illuminated entry.
- Interior light fade to off feature (dimming).
- Instrument panel lighting.
