Ignition MUX Switch Input Short

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ignition switch 5-pin connector. See Figure . Using scan tool, select SENSORS and monitor IGNITION SW voltage. If scan tool displays 0.0 volts, go to next step. If scan tool does not display 0.0 volts, replace ignition switch. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article.
  2. Locate Body Control Module (BCM) and disconnect connector C5. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C5 terminal No. 10 (Violet/Brown wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Brown wire.
  3. Disconnect BCM connector C4. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance of Violet/Orange wire between BCM connector C4 terminal No. 14 and ignition switch connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Orange wire.
