Dome Switch Input Short

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect headlight switch. For removal & installation procedures to access connector, see ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C5. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between BCM connector C5 terminals No. 17 (White/Yellow wire) and No. 30 (Orange/Brown wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short between White/Yellow and Orange/Brown wires.
  2. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C5 terminal No. 30 (Orange/Brown wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Orange/Brown wire.
  3. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C5 terminal No. 17 (White/Yellow wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Yellow wire.
  4. Reconnect headlight switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C5 terminals No. 17 (White/Yellow wire) and No. 30 (Orange/Brown wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms at both terminals, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less at either terminal, replace headlight switch.
