Reading Lamp Output Short

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs. Open driver's and passenger's front door. Recheck for DTCs. If READING LAMP OUTPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If READING LAMP OUTPUT SHORT does not reset, repair short to ground in Yellow/Light Blue wire between suspect inoperative reading light and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 34. See Figure .
  2. Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect BCM connector C4. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C2 terminal No. 25 (Yellow/Orange wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Orange wire.
