Incomplete Power Close - Overcurrent

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Operate power sliding door several times if possible. Recheck for DTCs. If INCOMPLETE POWER CLOSE - OVERCURRENT resets, go to next step. If INCOMPLETE POWER CLOSE - OVERCURRENT does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
  2. Visually inspect sliding door for proper alignment, damaged strikers, damaged latches or obstructions. Repair as necessary. If possible, check operation of sliding door on a known-good vehicle. If sliding door effort is excessive, diagnose power sliding door. See TROUBLE SHOOTING in POWER SLIDING DOORS & LIFTGATE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. If sliding door effort is not excessive, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect Power Sliding Door Module (PSDM) connector C1. See POWER SLIDING DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, probe PSDM connector C1 terminal No. 8 (Black wire; right sliding door, Black/White wire; left sliding door). See Figure . If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open or high resistance in PSDM ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS in POWER SLIDING DOORS & LIFTGATE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article.
  4. Disconnect PSDM connector C2. Disconnect sliding door cinch/release motor connector. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and PSDM connector C2 terminal No. 9 (Tan/White wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/White wire between PSDM and sliding door cinch/release motor.
  5. Disconnect sliding door motor connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and PSDM connector C2 terminal No. 7 (Orange/Tan wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Orange/Tan wire between PSDM and sliding door motor.
  6. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and PSDM connector C1 terminal No. 3 (Tan/Orange wire). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace sliding door motor assembly. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SLIDING DOORS & LIFTGATE - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Orange wire between PSDM and sliding door motor.
