Left B Pillar Switch Input Open

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Turn ignition off. Wait approximately 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Operate power sliding door from "B" pillar switch. Recheck for DTCs. If LEFT B PILLAR SWITCH INPUT OPEN resets, go to next step. If LEFT B PILLAR SWITCH INPUT OPEN does not reset, system is operating properly at this time. Check for intermittent poor connections or faulty circuits.
  2. Locate and disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector C3. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . See Figure . Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 18 (Violet/Dark Green wire). If no voltage is present, go to next step. If any voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Violet/Dark Green wire.
  3. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 18 (Violet/Dark Green wire). If resistance is greater than 20,500 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 20,500 ohms or less, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Carefully remove and disconnect "B" pillar switch. Using a test light connected battery voltage, probe "B" pillar switch connector terminal No. 1 (Black/Dark Green wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black/Dark Green wire between "B" pillar switch and ground connection located on left "B" pillar.
  5. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Violet/Dark Green wire between "B" pillar switch connector terminal No. 3 and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 18. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Dark Green wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace "B" pillar switch.
