Powertrain Control Module

NOTE: If Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) has been replaced along with PCM, program VIN into new PCM first. Then replace ALL ignition keys and program to new SKIM.
  1. Obtain vehicles unique 4-digit PIN from customer or manufacturer. Ensure vehicle is in Park or Neutral. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) under driver's side of instrument panel, left of steering column.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM then MISCELLANEOUS. Select PCM REPLACED (GAS ENGINE). Enter secured access code using 4-digit vehicle PIN.
  3. If incorrect PIN is entered incorrectly 3 times, secured access mode will be locked out and additional attempts to enter PIN will not be accepted. To clear lock out, turn ignition and leave on for one hour. Then enter correct PIN.
  4. Select ENTER to update PCM VIN. Select ENTER to send secret key data from SKIM to PCM. Select page back on scan tool and select ENGINE, MISCELLANEOUS then SRI MEMORY CHECK.
  5. Scan tool will ask IS ODOMETER READING BETWEEN XX AND XX? Select YES or NO. If NO is selected, scan tool will display ENTER ODOMETER READING <FROM I. P. ODOMETER>. Enter odometer reading from instrument cluster. Press enter to complete programming.
